Marble Molasses Pound Cake

MARBLE MOLASSES POUND CAKE

Ingredients:
2 Cups Flour
2 Tsp Baking Powder
¼ Tsp Salt
1 Stick Butter, Softened
1 Cup Sugar
2 Eggs, lightly beaten
2/3 Cups Milk
3 Tbsp Molasses
1 Tsp Cinnamon
½ Tsp Ground Nutmeg
½ Tsp Ground Cloves

Directions:
Preheat oven 350.

Grease 9x5 inch loaf pan. Line bottom of pan with parchment paper and grease paper.

In bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Stir with fork.

In mixing bowl, beat butter until fluffy. Add sugar and mix well. Add eggs and mix 1-2 minutes, scraping sides if necessary.  Add a third of the flour and half of the milk. Continue adding flour and milk. End with adding flour.

Scoop a third of the batter into a bowl and add molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Stir with spoon.

Quickly add both batters to pan a few tbsp. at a time. Run knife through to swirl.

Bake one hour until center comes out clean.

Cool in pan 10 minutes than transfer to wire rack to cool. Once cool, remove and slice.
